About the Show

Turning your life over to Christ is easy—but the change that follows is no cakewalk. Like Job of old, you'll face your greatest fear if you have one. Yet through the highs and lows, you will see Christ in the flesh, as Job testified, and receive not just double what you had before—but all that the Father has.

His work and glory is to prepare every needful thing for you to fulfill the measure of your creation as His son or daughter.

Kent speaks from the heart, inviting you to turn to Christ so He can reveal your gifted weakness—singular, not plural. You may think, "But I have more than one!" Yet He never gives more than you can handle. As you turn to Him, He shows the natural man within and teaches you—line upon line—to subdue it, overcoming one weakness after another. His grace is sufficient to make you the man or woman you were meant to be, enabling you to receive more and more until you have all that the Man of Holiness has.

This is for those seeking the Master but feeling beat up and left on the side of the road to Damascus. The good news: there's an inn nearby that will heal and empower you to do more than you ever could alone. The question is—will you receive Him? His character, His perfections, His attributes? Will you seek the Father's will over your own?

In short, this podcast is one man's unscripted journey from low to lifted in Christ—daily reflections on denying not the power of godliness and overcoming the natural man triumphantly.

Many claim it's just willpower and discipline. Kent says otherwise: "I am nothing without Christ. I am where I am because of Him, and every good thing in my life is His gift. Though I can never repay Him, I can share the joy I've received." Jesus meant what He said in John 15: without Him, we can do nothing—not one truly good thing. You may be good and honorable (the glory of the moon), but that falls far short of the glory of the Son. Rise up and watch what He will do with you, if you let Him.

Kent's story: From a broken home and childhood abuse to finding hope in Christ and serving a mission in Outer Mongolia. Student leader in college, thinking he was invincible—until arrested on Temple Square in 2000. Hospitalized the first time, broke off an engagement, car impounded and sold, no friends visited—only parents and bishopric. Gained 60+ pounds in 9 months, dropped school for 3 years, sabbatical from dating.

From fit and chasing a "trophy wife" across 500+ dates to—after diagnosis and overcoming fear—marrying a choice daughter of God in the SLC Temple (November 2003—now 22+ years). From 19 on the ACT and 10 majors to university honors and an honors thesis on Joseph Smith.

Another 20 years battling career direction and relapses—hospital visits even tapering meds under doctor's care. Nearly left the church until realizing a breakaway leader was deceived. Tasered 4 times in 2020 in front of an empty house his family had left during his last breakdown.

But grace restored everything—and more. From CPAP for 9 years, asthma inhalers, and 70 pounds overweight to fit and thriving—all through the power of God.

It isn't about Kent, but He who sent him. At best, a good Samaritan pointing fellow sojourners to the Inn.

Lean into failures—they stretch you and open doors to greater works as you overcome them in His grace. Without overcoming all things, including the natural man, how can you sit with the exalted? Hunger for Truth, and He gives the greatest gift: constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.

Kent now lives fully surrendered with his wife, 6 children, gratitude, and a smile: thirsting for all righteousness and service in His kingdom come—proving His law, enjoying His fruits.

Now it's time to give back.
